UNOA
Benevolent Golf Tournament
May 15, 2008
River Oaks Golf Course
It
was a great first outing at the River Oaks Golf Course for the 6th Annual
UNOA Benevolent Golf Tournament. We had a great turn out with all the slots filled with teams.
River Oaks provided a good venue for this year’s tournament and they were very helpful to us in providing you
this tournament.
The weather was great, not to hot, not to cold and just a little
windy to start with. I heard a lot of favorable comments about the day and it’s events.
Remember that 100% of the proceeds of this event go towards helping our Law Enforcement family in a time of real need.
A time that we hope we don’t see very often. Thanks for your support.
UNOA
wishes to thank everyone for attending and especially all our sponsors who donated items, hole sponsorships, financial funds
and or time to the event. I’d like to recognize Walker Mortuary, Ace Rentals, Bonneville Bank,
Jet Blue and CCInsignia for their hole sponsorships and generous contributions. I’d like
to thank also Marianne & Carlton Barber Jr, Cindy & Stephan Zobrosky, David & Stephan Zobrosky, Drew Lewis and
Valerie Merges for their individual donations to the fund.
We had a tie again for first place this year with
a score of 57 and the deciding tie breaker was an Eagle on the first hole. 1st place went to
the team of Darren Orr, Corey Monsen, Tom Gallegos and Trevor Martin. Close 2nd place
went to the team of SL Chief Burbank, Jon Lampshire, Mike Brown and Brett Wesston. (Sorry Chief,
We hope you come back next year to try to beat Darren’s team out). 3rd place went
to the team scoring one shot back at 58. This team consisted of Nick Kogianes, Scott Johnson, Troy Beebe
and Nelson Page. ( Nick must have gotten tired of playing with the perennial hackers)
And
then of course the hackers award went to the team scoring a 105 (I wonder if any of them passed math in school)
Gary Powell, Jose Ramirez, Brian Wolken and Sean Ellefsen.
The
longest drive went to Mike Mayer and the Closest to the Pin went to Corey Monsen.
Pictures
from the tournament will be in the next magazine.
Again Thanks for all
your support and please continue to do so as this goes for a great cause.
Your
UNOA Board.
